First Post... Today Apple releases OSX Lion

OSX Lion

This is very exciting since the announcement of the new operating system. I think it looks clean but not sure until I check it out later today at the apple store because I currently do not have money to purchase it. For some reason I did not sleep and was waiting for it and then it finally came up around 5:30am. Many new features and the cost of $30 is very reasonable. I have to try it out to see if it is worth the time and money to download and install. I will come back to this and reblog another day.

New Apple Hardware

Another thing Apple released today was the new Thunderbolt display and refreshed the Macbook Air and Mac Mini.  All of them got new features and better; more up-to-date processors to compete in the world. Sadly, one thing had to go from all this and it is the macbook. The original macbook because there is no need for it and I agree with Apple. There is one thing I do not like about the new mac mini is that there is no more optical drive. I do know that cds are the past and we all use internet or usb drives to do our downloads and transfer but sometimes some people do not have anything and have to use cds.  Computers with a cd drive is kinda obsolete but it is handy sometimes.  That just means one thing, we are going to have to buy a cd/dvd burner drive if we need it one and it is going to be a premium because it is from apple. It does however makes the computer a lot cleaner and flush.

Cinema Displays

The picture above shows the old and the new cinema display. The left shows the old one with 3 usb ports and a bunch of wires while the left shows the new cinema display with gigaport ethernet, thunderbolt ports, usb ports, and a webcam with mic and speakers in just 2 wires.  The new one has a new wire with the charger and thunderbolt wire in one wire that is separate into a Y. I think this is simple and effective. It makes things very easy and most of all, wireless is not always reliable and with the macbook air without one, this makes it a real computer not relying on wifi all the time.

To close this on a good note,
Apple has gone a long way from the intel transition to today. I have been watching them closely and they have been developing new hardware people will use everyday.
